Your Eyes by Eric Culver

Your Eyes by Eric Culver

I watch your eyes shifting colors
When first I saw them, they were blue,
Light blue, like the sky without clouds.
Those clouds came later,
When I first saw you cry.

Your eyes had golden streaks in them,
Your pupil like the sun eclipsed.
That was our first kiss.

The most memorable of all
Was the color I saw last.
Not green,
Or gray,
But black. A light turned off.
That was the last I saw your eyes.
