I Found a Pumpkin Shell and Thought by Katherine Allred

I found a pumpkin shell and thought
here is the thing.
I quick ran home
with it and
clapped you inside.
The pumpkin shell
is sitting in my kitchen and
if I let you out you'll be mad but
if I don't let you out
you're stuck inside a pumpkin shell.
I should have left it
where I found it
I should have thrown it in the river
I should have made you pumpkin pie
then it would be inside of you
instead of you inside of it.
